National Sleep Therapy Acquires Rest Ensured Medical

We announced today that we have acquired Rest Ensured Medical (REM). As a small, national provider of CPAP, bi-level therapy and related supplies to sleep apnea patients, REM complements our patient minded, technology driven principles. “This acquisition decidedly promotes our strategic vision of expanding our ability to reach a larger population with our advanced patient care methodologies and technologies,” said Peter Falkson, National Sleep Therapy’s CEO and Co-Founder. The REM acquisition marks the beginning of an exciting growth phase for our four-year-old company.

Here is the full press release about the acquisition:

National Sleep Therapy, a sleep industry leader in patient compliance and care innovation, announced today that it has acquired Rest Ensured Medical (REM) for an undisclosed sum. As a small, national provider of CPAP, bi-level therapy and related supplies to sleep apnea patients, REM complements National Sleep Therapy’s patient minded, technology driven principles. This acquisition enables National Sleep Therapy to improve the outcomes of a broader patient community and increase the level of service all CPAP users demand from their providers.

“This acquisition decidedly promotes our strategic vision of expanding our ability to reach a larger population with our advanced patient care methodologies and technologies,” said Peter Falkson, National Sleep Therapy’s CEO and Co-Founder. “Operating under the National Sleep Therapy umbrella and accessing the innovative tools National Sleep Therapy has developed, REM will be able to engage patients in a more meaningful way.”

Different from most acquisitions, National Sleep Therapy values and will preserve the established relationships between REM and its patients and referring physicians. “With the operational support NST has perfected, we are freed to once again focus our efforts where our passions lie: comprehensive patient care, disease management, and improving patient health outcomes,” said Andrew Cook, Rest Ensured Medical’s Founder.

National Sleep Therapy’s industry leading position is attributed to its focus on developing and inventing the best processes, technology and measurement tools in the sleep therapy industry. Their ECOsystem™ care protocol results in a documented PAP success rate of over 88% and patient satisfaction rating of over 96%. Most recently, National Sleep Therapy pioneered a CPAP Outcome Score™ to better measure evidence-based efficacy and outcomes of a sleep disorder patient and the Mask Performance Index™, a quantitative tool to evaluate which mask interface is the best for a patient. When these tools are applied in conjunction with National Sleep Therapy’s compassionate team of sleep experts, it’s easy to see how the company has achieved evidence-based industry compliance rates that far exceed any other provider in the country.

The acquisition of REM marks the beginning of a growth phase for the four-year-old National Sleep Therapy. Evolution of healthcare and Medicare, ever decreasing reimbursements, new healthcare taxes, and regulatory burdens is creating significant opportunity for innovative healthcare companies. Coincidentally, there is a growing understanding of obstructive sleep apnea in the general American public and exploding need for patient support. “National Sleep Therapy is perfectly positioned to expand on its success and raise the quality of sleep therapy service in this country by acquiring niche sleep companies that can fit our unique model,” said Eric Cohen, National Sleep Therapy’s President and Co-Founder.
